Dear Friends and Supporters,
In many of my conversations—both in person and online—I often hear people refer to the Old Borrego Sun
building as "my building" or express excitement about "my museum." I always make a point to redirect that enthusiasm, because from the very beginning, my goal has been to emphasize that this is our
museum— the Museum of Borrego.
The building is still undergoing much-needed restoration, and while the doors remain closed for now, we will soon begin hosting events on the grounds to connect more directly with the community. Our first major initiative, Stories of Borrego
, focuses on collecting and preserving oral histories that will bring to life the articles and artifacts to be featured in the museum. I'm excited to share more about this project with you.
Support the Legacy. Strengthen the Story.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we invite you to become a leading partner in this mission by joining our circle of major donors:
Desert Visionary – $10,000
Help lead the way in advancing long-term exhibits, facility upgrades, and community outreach.
Heritage Guardian – $5,000
Support special exhibitions, interpretive displays, and outreach initiatives.
Trailblazer – $1,000
Contribute to core programs and youth education.
Your Support Helps Preserve Borrego's Story
All donors at these levels will be recognized on the website, in the annual report, and on the museum's donor wall. Most importantly, you will be playing a vital role in protecting the legacy of Borrego Springs.
Your support matters. Please consider making a contribution today to help continue telling the stories that make this place so special.
Sincerely,
Mitzi Matijevich
